National Orchid Garden

Nestled in the Central Core of the Singapore Botanic Gardens is the National Orchid Garden, one of the masterpieces of garden design. Spread over three hectares on the highest hill in the Gardens, the National Orchid Garden's visual spectacle of over 60,000 dazzling orchid-plants set against contrasting textures and shapes of tropical foliage is a feast for the senses. Opened on 20 October 1995, this most comprehensive collection of tropical orchids in the world is the crown jewel of the Gardens.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens was established in 1859 and played an important historical role in the introduction and promotion of many plants of economic value to South East Asia. Today, the 63.7-hectare Gardens is a key civic and community regional recreational park, an important national tourist destination as well as a leading tropical and horticultural institution, playing host to over 3 million visitors annually.

NOTE: Accompanying spouses may choose to attend the spouse programme by indicating it in the Delegate Registration form.
