Established in 1906, the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI) has an illustrious history as one of Singapore’s oldest business organisations and the apex body of the Chinese business community in Singapore. Being an internationally renowned business organisation, it is also the founder of the biennial World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention and the World Chinese Business Network, a portal assembling contact details of Chinese enterprises worldwide. It plays a key and proactive role in representing the interests of the local business community. In its continued drive for service excellence, the SCCCI has since 1995 become the first business chamber in the region to be awarded ISO 9001 : 2008 certification, providing a high standard of professional services to its members.

The SCCCI has a current membership network of 138 trade associations (representing 31,000 enterprises) and 4,000 corporate entities including large financial and business organisations, multinational corporations, government-linked companies, small and medium enterprises from a wide spectrum of trades and industries. Altogether, the SCCCI represents a total of 35,000 enterprises which provides the business community with vast resources and an influential global Chinese business network for business, culture and education.The SCCCI plays an effective role as a bridge between the government and the private sector, helping the government to build a pro-business environment. It is also active in soliciting feedback from the business community for consideration of relevant government agencies.
In 1991, the SCCCI founded and organised the World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention, which has since been successfully hosted in ten cities around the world. In 2011, the 11th WCEC will be hosted once again by the SCCCI in Singapore. |
